In a rather odd turn of events, the rail was the first piece designed and made for this chapel. Under normal circumstances, the rail would be made to match the altar, but in this instance, plans changed after the rail was made and the Sisters requested an altar and other furnishing to match the rail.
This rail was a custom, original design, and made from red and white oak, most of which was harvested and milled on the Children of Mary’s Emmanuel property. Designed in gothic style and stained dark, the gold trim was added later by the Sisters.
This is a piece for the Sisters’ new motherhouse chapel in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati at the Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center in Norwood.
Each rail is approximately 7 ft. long x 28 in. tall.
